Centre for Jewish Living and Learning
The vision of the Centre is to provide a holistic Jewish learning experience for our families.
Our goal is to educate our youth to become active Jews, comfortable within the wider Jewish universe. We seek to present the diversity of the Jewish experience encompassing all Jewish narratives, while stressing Jewish peoplehood.
The Centre has put in place new and imaginative possibilities for Jewish pedagogy. Integral to this vision is the exploration of alternative learning, family education, parallel parent/child learning and informal learning experiences.
LOMDIM 365 is the Centre’s first project exploring new models of progressive Jewish learning, engagement and choice. A successful pilot program was launched in January 2008 and took place on five consecutive Shabbat afternoons. Drawing on the passion and interest of Temple members, teachers and guest speakers, the pilot provided a diverse forum for sharing our tradition in an engaging fashion.
LOMDIM continues to evolve in our year 5770 (2009-2010).
