“Tackling the Challenges Facing People with Disability in Canada and in Israel – What’s the Latest?”
Drawing on decades of legal, educational, and advocacy leadership, David will explore current barriers facing people with disabilities and the progress—and challenges—toward accessibility and inclusion in both Canada and Israel.
David Lepofsky, C.M., O. Ont. is one of Canada’s most influential disability rights advocates. He is Chair of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Alliance and Chair of the Toronto District School Board’s Special Education Advisory Committee. A retired Crown lawyer, he has argued more than 30 cases before the Supreme Court of Canada and teaches disability rights at Ontario law schools including Queen’s, Western, and Ottawa. He is a Member of the Order of Canada and a recipient of the Order of Ontario.
