Dr. Mike Daley presents the life and music of the great songwriter and composer George Gershwin
in this one-hour video lecture-concert. Not only did Gershwin help to create a modern American classical idiom with "Rhapsody in Blue" and "An American in Paris,"
he wrote (with his brother Ira) some of the most enduring popular songs of all time,
including "Summertime," "Someone To Watch Over Me" and many more. 
Mike will sing and play several Gershwin classics as part of the presentation.

Dr. Daley holds a Ph.D. in Music from York University. He has taught undergraduate courses at several
Ontario Universities and courses for seniors at U. of T., Ryerson, George Brown and Glendon College.
