Community Garden

NEW: Community Gardening Sessions twice per month! Learn more HERE.

Do you love tending to gardens? Have you ever noticed that veggies grow better when you speak to them? The Temple Emanu-El Community Garden started in 2022 with 18 vegetable containers. This year we have planted 36 containers, filled with beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, and zucchini. Everything we grow will be our mitzvah as we donate our harvest to Eva’s Place, an organization committed to the health and well-being of youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Volunteering
This summer, come share a little love with our Temple Emanu-El Community Garden! We need volunteers to pick the vegetables and/or deliver them to Eva’s Place. We are also seeking volunteers who want to stop by to chat with the veggies! Sign up as a family and share the love of gardening. Please email Pamela Roy at garden@templeemanuel.ca if this sounds like you!

Acknowledgements
The Temple Emanu-El Community Garden is dedicated in memory of our own "Bubbie Greenthumbs" Dolores Wallis. We are grateful to the New Horizons for Seniors Program, a federal grant that supports community-based projects that empower seniors in their communities to improve their health and well-being, as well as to Reena, a non-profit that promotes dignity, individuality, independence, personal growth and community inclusion for people with diverse abilities within a framework of Jewish culture and values.
