Membership has its Benefits!

Welcome! I am Dina Krawitz, a member of Temple Emanu-El’s Membership Committee. I am delighted that you are considering becoming a part of our intimate Temple family.

What makes Temple Emanu-El special and, perhaps, the right place for you and your family?

Our modest size, about 350 families, offers many benefits for our members. In addition to the usual membership benefits, such as participating in a range of services, religious educational instruction for children and adults, and High Holiday services, our members have an opportunity to:

  • Develop close personal relationships with Rabbi Landsberg and other member families
  • Celebrate a family-oriented, personal Bar or Bat Mitzvah
  • Participate with children/ grandchildren in Small Fry Tot Shabbatot led by David and Judy Gershon
  • Enjoy and participate in music, whether it be in services or by joining the choir, both under the leadership of Cantor and Composer in Residence Judy Adelman Gershon.

How do we support Temple Emanu-El?

Temple Emanu-El is supported by its members, both by an annual financial commitment and through volunteerism. Both forms of support enable our temple to flourish and are essential to its well-being. Members are given a full tax receipt for their financial support, significantly reducing the impact on family resources.

We have many opportunities to volunteer at any age, with a focus on mitzvah activities, social action, religious and adult education, religious practices and synagogue governance. If you have the will, we have the way!

It would be my pleasure to meet with you personally to “qvell” about our many attributes and to answer any questions you may have about membership. Please contact Randi Feldman, our Executive Director, to get in contact with me. I do hope that you decide Temple Emanu-El is where you belong.

Warmly,

Dina Krawitz

Welcome from Rabbi Landsberg

Bruchim Haba’im – – Welcome!

I am Debra Landsberg, the rabbi of Temple Emanu-El. It is my pleasure to invite you to embark on a journey together, one of spiritual discovery and Jewish soulfulness. I welcome you to Temple Emanu-El, a bright, intimate, progressive community.

Over 50 years ago, this kehillah (congregation) was founded when two communities embraced each other in a common vision of spiritual nourishment and cultural inquiry, grounded upon the rock of allegiance to Israel and the Jewish people.

At Temple Emanu-El, we know that our differences make us stronger. We are committed to supporting each other in our Jewish journeys, whether raised in the Reform movement or being new to it. We are an inclusive community, welcoming interfaith families, LGBTQ, empty-nesters – – all those who enter our gates with an open heart are welcome. We seek to nurture the Jewish life of all who participate here, through study, prayer, acts of social justice and loving-kindness, in times of distress and in moments of joy.

I hope you come to call this congregation your home.

Shalom u’vrachah – –

Warmly,

Rabbi Debra Landsberg
