Career Opportunity:
DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRE FOR JEWISH LIVING AND LEARNING
TEMPLE EMANU-EL
30 hours/week, beginning August 2022 (or sooner)
Required hours: Sunday mornings during the school year (typically September through May), family Shabbat/Holy Day and special programs. This is a three-quarter time position, with flexibility in set hours and schedule.
Position Description: The Director of the Centre for Jewish Living and Learning (CJLL) is the lead staff person for all family programming, youth education and holiday programs, b’nei mitzvah, outreach to pre-school age families, and membership engagement. They work closely with the other synagogue professional staff to create an integrated relationship between the CJLL/young family community and the larger synagogue community. The Director hires and supervises the teaching staff, madrichim (teen classroom educational assistants), inclusion coordinator, and youth advisor. They work with the parent body to develop goals to bring the CJLL vision to life, then develop curricula and programming to achieve these goals.

Qualifications:
- Passion for Jewish life, with strong abilities to inspire children/families
- Deep appreciation for Reform Jewish practice and knowledge of Hebrew
- Excellent relationship-building skills
- Proven organizational, management, and leadership skills
- Experience in formal and/or informal educational settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
