Prickly, wry, resistant to change yet ruthlessly honest and deeply empathetic, Olive Kitteridge struggles to understand not only herself and her own life but the lives of those around her in the town of Crosby, Maine. The 13 short stories follow Olive from her seventies into her eighties. Whether with a teenager coming to terms with the loss of her father, a young woman about to give birth during a hilariously inopportune moment, a nurse who confesses to a secret high school crush, or a lawyer who struggles with an inheritance she does not want to accept, the unforgettable Olive will startle us, move us and inspire us.
Tina Urman brings a creative approach to learning by integrating her knowledge of art and literature with a teaching background both as a docent at the Art Gallery of Ontario and an instructor at the University of Toronto, School of Continuing Studies. She currently organizes an annual Art and Literature Tour to New York City providing an intimate and unique insight into its most prominent museums and boutique galleries.Tina co-founded Health and Fitness and served as Chair of the citywide Cycle Challenge, raising money towards the fight against breast cancer. She continues to support the One Family Fund and Save A Child’s Heart, and is a long standing volunteer at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
