10:30 AM - 2:00 PMZoom

*This event was originally scheduled for Thursday, November 6 and has been postponed to Sunday, November 9 at 10:30am.

Join us online for a remarkable conversation with Alex Bruner, educator and nephew of József Debreczeni, author of Cold Crematorium: Reporting from the Land of Auschwitz — named one of The New York Times Book Review’s 10 Best Books of 2024. PLEASE REGISTER BELOW TO RECEIVE THE ZOOM LINK.

First published in Hungarian in 1950 and rediscovered more than seventy years later, Cold Crematorium is an extraordinary firsthand account of survival, moral struggle, and the limits of humanity inside Auschwitz. Bruner, who championed the English-language publication of his uncle’s long-lost memoir, will share insights into Debreczeni’s life, the book’s journey from obscurity to global recognition, and its enduring significance today.
