Lita Glassman will speak at Shabbat Morning services as part of our "Sharing Our Journeys" series, highlighting Emanu-Elniks with unique Jewish paths.

Lita writes... "When people find out I ‘converted’, they immediately jump to the conclusion that I did so in order to marry my Jewish husband.  The truth is I married my Jewish husband well after I took the plunge (literally into the mikveh) because I am a Jew by choice.  But I question whether it was ever really a choice, or rather, an eventuality – that I became Bat Mitzvah, at the typical age of 13 (times 4).  That was 5 years ago.  Today I live my Jewish life with my Jewish husband, our collective 5 children and a smattering of significant others, amongst our large extended family and community of friends, while ensuring I continue to honour my roots at the same time."
