From Rabbi Landsberg: There are many organizations that are working to aid the citizens of Israel as they face a tidal wave of need. I would be happy to talk with you about organizations that this congregation has supported over the years, ones Adam and I choose to support, and any that might speak to the particular way you wish to support Israelis.
This year, as a congregation, we have been fundraising for Peace of Mind Canada. Peace of Mind is an initiative of METIV, the Israel Psychotrauma Centre, which gives veterans the opportunity to individually and collectively navigate and heal from their combat experiences. Jewish communities worldwide play a key role in providing a safe, quiet, and supportive environment for one week where the participants can process their trauma away from the pressures of daily life in Israel. The veterans emerge with strengthened emotional and mental health, which allows them to lead healthier and happier lives.
Together with Temple Har Zion, we are sponsoring a unit coming to Canada in October 2025. You can make a donation to support this work here.
