Rabbi Arthur N. Bielfeld Lecture Fund

Upon his retirement in 2001, Rabbi Arthur Bielfeld's loving congregation established a lecture series in his honour. Past speakers have included outstanding Canadians who have impacted the world through their work: General Romeo Dallaire, the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson,  Stephen Lewis,  Dr. Samantha Nutt, and Dr. Larry Librach.  

 During his long history with the Congregation, Rabbi Bielfeld was an inspiration. Amongst his many endeavours, he served as the founding Chair of the Leo Baeck Day School (the first community-sponsored Reform Jewish Day School in North America), founding Chair of MAZON Canada - a Jewish response to Hunger, a founding member of KOLEL - The Adult Centre for Liberal Jewish Learning, and the founding Chair of The Campaign Against Child Poverty. On July 1, 2012 Rabbi Bielfeld was awarded the Order of Canada for his contributions to Toronto’s Jewish community and his social justice work.
