Virtual Morning Minyan, Torah Study and Shabbat Services

A Note about New Virtual Worship Service Procedures for Morning Minyan and Shabbat

As we continue to adjust to our "new for now" normal and become more familiar with praying, learning, socializing, and celebrating via Zoom, we must also be vigilant in protecting our community.

Sadly, several of our sister congregations across the globe have been victims of "Zoombombing," where people of ill-will have crashed services with hateful messages.

As we continue to reassess how our congregation can remain protected, we will be altering some of our access to Temple Emanu-El events on Zoom.

As of April 3, all

Morning Minyan
Friday night and Saturday morning worship
and Torah Study

will be accessible only by a password-protected link.

The link, meeting ID, and password will be emailed to the Temple community
in the Sunday & Friday Temple emails.

You will not be able to access these services from the Temple website or from links previously shared.

If you are not a Temple Emanu-El member or do not receive our email communications
and would like to join us
, please email us at info@templeemanuel.ca

Please do not share the link, meeting ID, or password on social media.

If you have any questions about this new procedure, please contact Randi (randi@templeemanuel.ca).
Thank you for your continued patience and support during these uncertain times.

To join a Temple Emanu-El virtual Morning Minyan, Torah Study or
Shabbat Service,
there are several options:

ZOOM

Zoom allows you the option to be seen, heard and actively participate in the service as well as see the other participants. It is a virtual community.

After the service is over, everyone’s microphone will be unmuted and we will have a virtual kiddush and an opportunity to schmooze.

Computer/Tablet/Smartphone
You can join Zoom via a tablet, smartphone, or most computers. The first time you use Zoom, you will need to install the Zoom software. The steps are easy--click on the link below and follow the prompts.

Telephone
You can also join us on Zoom (audio only) via telephone.

To join by phone:

1. Call one of these numbers: 647-374-4685 or 647-558-0588

2. Enter the meeting ID and password provided in your Sunday Temple email.

Please keep in mind: Praying together virtually is a new modality for all of us. With this new way of leading services, it is easy for a service leader to miss a name in the comments or not hear or see someone on Zoom. If possible, please send names you would like included on the Mi Shebeirach list or before Mourner's Kaddish to Randi (randi@templeemanuel.ca) or Carli (carli@templeemanuel.ca) well in advance of the service.
